    Hokie coaching rumors

lots of rumors out there that Beamer will ask QB coach Mike O'Cain, RB coach Billy Hite, and Whips/Rovers coach Cavanaugh to retire making room for 3 new coaches

Cornell Brown would come back to his alma mater after coaching in the CFL and help with recruiting

Shane Beamer, who is a DB coach at South Carolina and the recruiting coordinator would come and take over Whips/Rovers or RBs and become VTs recruiting coordinator

and replacing Mike O'Cain as QB coach would be Frank Beamer's best friend in the coaching world....Ralph Friedgen

Big Ralph as a position coach? How about OC ...... He would be an upgrade over what is there now IMO .....

The biggest problem VT has is at the OC position, forget asking him to retire fire his ignorant arse.

The biggest problem with coaching at VT is Beamer himself.

i agree with Beast and VOL, its the OC Stinespring, who is most at fault for VTs trouble.

VT also needs some new blood, their recruiting was very stale this year.
Not to mention the best VA player in some time, Grant, didnt even consider VT seriously

    Re: Hokie coaching rumors

you've got it wrong with regards to Grant...Grant was heavy VT lean early on...then Mike London got in his ear that VT doesn't usually send LBs to the NFL due to their system...after that he dropped them on his list and let the VT staff know this, and both parties moved on...VT still recruited him obviously, but not with as much attention as Stephone Anthony or Travis Hughes

Stinespring is a bad OC, and there may be some re-shuffling, but I can't see Stinespring taking too well to being a position coach again...and we cannot afford to lose him, as he is our best recruiter

ideally Fridge would be an OC/QB coach and Stinespring would coach TEs and Tackles with much more recruiting responsibilities, but Beamer is a loyal guy and will probably stick with him
